What is included in the price?
We will provide your lodging (Check in Friday July 11, check out Friday July 18) for 7 nights, breakfasts and dinners, snacks and drinks, 5 days of painting instruction with Jeremy Harper, ground transportation to and from painting sites (in a multi-passenger van), canvases, rental of easels, and an historical guide. We will also arrange to ship your paintings back to your home from England.
In addition, we will offer a mid-week Afternoon English Tea, and visits to various nearby pubs. We may also be able to offer a boating excursion on the Broads.
What do students need to bring?
Students will need to bring or purchase their own brushes and paints, sketchbook, sturdy pairs of shoes, a water-repellant jacket (just in case!), hat, and other appropriate clothing (details/recommendations provided upon enrollment.)
Is airfare included?
No, each individual will have to make his or her own arrangements to fly to England, and then get to Norwich.
Will I need a car?
Not during the Art Week. We will have a passenger van.
What are the best ways to get to Norwich?
First Route: Fly to London, then take train, or coach to Norwich, or rent a car. Norwich is 125 miles from London, about 2 hours by train, 3 hours by car, 3-4 by coach.
Second Route: Fly to Dublin, Ireland. Connect in Dublin with Ryan Air flights to Stansted, near Cambridge, about 50 miles from Norwich. Take coach or rent a car from Stansted.
Third Route: Fly to Amsterdam with KLM, connect in Amsterdam with short flight to Norwich Int’l Airport.
(Once you arrive in Norwich, you can hire a taxi for the ~10 mile journey to The Lodge in Saxlingham Thorpe, just south of the city, along the road A140.)

What is the bedroom situation?
There are seven bedrooms, 5 with double/queen sized beds, 2 with twin beds. We will offer a 10% discount for those willing to share a twin-bedroom with another painting student.
Is there a washer/dryer on site?
Yes. However, English washers and dryers are smaller than American models.
What if I want to bring a “non-painting” partner/travel companion?
A $450 discount will apply.
Should I buy travel-and-trip insurance?
That is up to you, but we would recommend it. AAA or other travel services can provide it.
